Dr. Thomas E. Glavinich is an Associate Professor in the Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) Departments at The University of Kansas (KU). At KU, Tom teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in electric power systems and construction engineering. Tom received his Doctor of Engineering (DE) degree from KU in construction management. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from KU as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of Missouri – Columbia (MU). He is a fellow of the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Prior to joining KU full time in 1992, Tom worked 16 years in industry and was involved in the planning, design, and construction of commercial, industrial, and utility facilities. Tom is a registered professional electrical engineer in Kansas, Missouri, and California. He has completed a number of research and educational projects for ELECTRI International and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and received the NECA Industry Partner Award in 2007. Tom is the author of Construction Planning And Scheduling which is published by the The Associated General Contractors of America and is currently in its second edition. He is also the author of the Contractor’s Guide To Green Building Construction, which was published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
