CHIEF DANIEL LINSKEY
Sunday, October 9 • 10:00–11:30 am
Chief Daniel Linskey will take you on a leadership journey through the 2013 terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon. Linskey was the Incident Commander overseeing the response to the bombings and coordinating with the investigation being conducted by the FBI, Boston police and state police. During the manhunt for the bombers, he managed the unprecedented lockdown of the City of Boston and was the first commander on scene during the Watertown shootout.
Chief Linskey’s presentation starts with the planning and training exercises that helped mitigate the loss of life on Boylston Street. It also looks at the leadership challenges in the immediate response to the bombings as well as those developed during the investigation and subsequent manhunt. The program will develop lessons that can be used to help prevent loss of life during critical incidents and catastrophic events while providing the audience insight into the emotional toll suffered by first responders.
