Dan Blitzer, Principal of The Practical Lighting Workshop, brings over 30 years of experience to issues of lighting application, energy effectiveness and sustainability. The Practical Lighting Workshop is a 24-year old consultancy providing strategy, marketing, communication, and training services for the lighting industry. In addition to consulting on a broad range of subjects, the firm’s chief deliverables are a wide range of face-to-face and written communications.. Dan is lead faculty at the Philips Lighting Application Center, as well as a continuing educator for the American Lighting Association. He speaks nationally to a variety of audiences, including architects, distributors, facility engineers, and electrical contractors, and has judged design competitions. Dan currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Next Generation Luminaires design competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and the International Association of Lighting Designers. Dan is a board member and past president of the Designer’s Lighting Forum of New York, a member of the IESNA, and a director and Treasurer of The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education. He is Lighting Certified. |
