Description

We can all use more resources effectively managing risk while improving the bottom line in the process. The eighth annual Safety Roundtable assists NECA members by providing guidance for developing and maintaining an effective safety management strategy. This year there will be a special focus on the requirements for performing work on Department of Energy worksites and a discussion on the NECA/IBEW/electrical training ALLIANCE/DOE NFPA 70E training program and how companies can use it to train their workers.

    Michael Johnston

    Michael Johnston is NECA’s executive director of standards and safety. Mike holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. He served on NEC CMP-5 in the 2002, 2005, and was the Chairman of CMP-5 representing NECA for the 2011 NEC cycle. Mike is currently the Chairman of the NEC Correlating Committee. Among his responsibilities for managing the codes, standards, and safety functions for NECA, Mike is secretary of the NECA Codes and Standards Committee.  Johnston is a member of the IBEW and is an active member of ANSI, IAEI, NFPA, ASSE, the NFPA Electrical Section, the UL Electrical Council, and National Safety Council.

  • Wheeler, Wes

    Wesley Wheeler

    Wesley has over 33 years of electrical experience. Prior to joining National Electrical Contractors Association, he focused on safety as an OSHA instructor and safety director for a large industrial-based electrical contractor in Florida. Wesley has taught OSHA instructor classes for NJATC and has participated in Safety training at the annual NTI for the last 5 years. Wesley has served in many capacities in his career from electrician, foreman, superintendent, estimator, project manager to safety director.
