Description

The National Electrical Code is expanding to include requirements for large-scale photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems and DC microgrid systems. This program will discuss the infrastructure landscape and how energy storage is quickly becoming the means to address demand response and utilizing the most of renewable energy and other electric power sources. An overview of energy management requirements will also be discussed.

    Mark Earley

    Mark W. Earley, P.E. serves as chief electrical engineer at NFPA. He serves as secretary of the National Electrical Code® Committee, and is the chief editor of the National Electrical Code Handbook. He was also a coeditor for the Handbook on Electrical
    Safety in the Workplace.
    He is co-author of Electrical Installations in Hazardous Locations, and has published numerous technical articles on the fire protection of electrical equipment. Mr. Earley joined NFPA in 1986. His professional organization affiliations include the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, the Standards Engineering Society, the Canadian Electrical Code Committee, the U.S. National Committee’s Executive
